JET Power Spring 2008

JET Power
Lose final spring season game

JET Power lost their last game of the spring season. They managed to score one goal by Liz G. but the scoring they experienced throughout the early part of the season slowed down considerably during tournament play and over their last few season games. It was a well fought game but our defense was forced to work over time as the ball kept coming back. We had opportunities but just could not convert. Great season though girls. 7 and 3 is a record to be proud of!

JET Power
Sunburst Tournament

Sunday: The Power didn't bring their "A" game on Sunday and lost the final two of the tournament. Our offense was unable to keep the ball on the opponents side although we had a number of opportunities to score in both games. Our defense held tough throughout but the ball seemed to always find its way back. A good effort nonetheless - and many thanks to our guests over the weekend.

Saturday: The Jet Power came from behind to win 2-1 vs. Lawrence in an exciting victory. Elise scored the Power's first goal off a pass from the left side (Megan/Liz G.). The second goal was scored off of a corner kick from Liz G. and Kelsey H. was there to put it away. In the final moments the defense came up big especially Jackie with a big save at the end, chesting a shot out of bounds. Nicole played a great game in goal for us. Nadine, Nita and Jackie played well defensively even though they had to deal with the change in line up. We had several chances on offense created by Niki, Megan(s), Liz, Reilly and Brit but only scored 2. As it turns out, 2 was enough. Great job girls!

The Power came out a little flat in the second game and got beat by a pretty good opponent, Bordentown. The final was 4-1. Reilly (guest player) had the Power's lone goal. Nicole and Brittany combined for the gk effort. Both had some good saves. Brit had a great save deflecting the ball over the cross bar. But even though we switched to a flat back 4 mid way thru the game Bordentown was able to get thru our pressure all over the field. Keep your heads up and bring your A game tomorrow Power!    Coach Jen
